12/23/08: Day 59: Last Minute Transition

Today was supposed to be GSC (Grand/Great Stirrup Cay) but we ended up heading straight for Nassau. So we’ll be arriving around 6:00pm and staying overnight. Unfortunate for me. It is Christmas week and that means a younger crowd because of families. Younger crowd means crowded gym. Crowded gym means boo. If people are on the beach I have a better shot at the gym, but not today.

Time for a few shout outs to people who may or may not read my blog.

1- to Evie for the xmas cookies. Delicious.
2- Jeanie, whose blog I have just discovered. If you like Cirque de Soleil wait until you get on the Jewel.
3- Megan, whose blog I have just discovered. Massimo, the Italian who tans standing, is great. Say hi to him from Deanna and I. He loves America’s Funniest Home Videos if I remember correctly.

I can’t remember if there were any other things.

Around 11:00pm we got off the ship because we could. This is the first time we have ever had an overnight (except for Brett) so we all went to the Atlantis casino. Even stranger was that we all went…all six of us…even Mike! We hadn’t done that since Europe. I ended up losing about $68 bucks, but I played roulette for the first time with Brett. Brett won pretty big but said he had now broke even for that casino.

While Brett was gambling we went to see their aquarium again. We saw it during the day on the first cruise of our Jewel contract. They had it lit at night…right up until I pushed the button on my camera. LITERALLY as I hit the button the lights shut off. I took one picture after that…the blurs are fish.
