Last night we played the game Replay in a show. Deanna was hosting. In Replay we do a quick scene and then replay it with 3 different styles. So, after the initial scene, Deanna went out to get the styles:
Deanna: can I get a movie genre, please?
AUD: Footloose...uh...80's Dance
Deanna: 80's Dance, ok. And how about a literary style?
AUD: Poe
Deanna: Great, William Edgar Poe. And a musical style?
AUD: Cha-cha.
Deanna: Excellent. We will start with 80's Dance.
Everyone heard her say "William Edgar Poe"...and everyone sort paused as if saying, "huh?"
I only hoped she would say it again.
After we replayed the scene in 80's dance:
Deanna: We will now see the seen done in the style of William Edgar...Poe...is that right?
AUD: Edgar Allen Poe
Rance: Let's do William Edgar Poe!
We then made as many near references to EAP as we could, but with the different twists WEP would have used...a Parrot instead of a Raven, Vivian instead of Lenore, etc.
Deanna blames it on age. In her defense...sort of...we both got the suggestion of Messopotamian as an era and basically did a scene about cavemen inventing the wheel. We're well learn'ed.
