I Was Right About Myself

I've always said I like the cold better than the heat. Coming back from the ships into the long tail end of a Chicago winter was tough. Having spring weather followed by a day of snow was tough. But it wasn't sweaty.

We've had humid, hot weather the last couple of days. I think I can deal with the heat part, but I'm not a fan at all of the humidity.

It's gross.

Hey Rance. Wow, I absolutely understand where you're coming from. Summer's have always kicked my butt in Chicago when it's humid. It makes me feel icky and uncomfortable in my own skin. I think it might have something to do with being spoiled by the mostly temperate summers of the PacNW and AK.

I hope you and D are out enjoying the gorgeously non-humid weather today. Me? I just returned from a lakefront run 'n' walk. Whee!

when I went to Vietnam in 1968 all I heard about was the heat. It was frickin' cold when I arrived and I sent a quick letter to my girlfriend to send me some longjohns (now your mother). But the heat did come. I was sticky wet for 24 hrs for months and no showers. When I left Nam it was 125 degrees. We landed in Okinawa at 75 degrees and it felt like 40 below zero. So count your blessings with Chicago heat. - Dad
